Youth Ministry

As a church, we are committed to being used by the Lord to reach our children with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We want them to know Christ as their Savior and follow him as Lord in their daily lives.  We desire to reach their friends and neighbors with the gospel of Jesus also.  To help us in this ministry we have a staff Youth Director, Katie Schmalbach.

Here are some of the youth activities:

1. Youth Club
   Every Wednesday night the youth gather together after our Wednesday Church supper.  They also gather for study and fellowship on Sunday night.
2. Outreach and Fun Activities
   Youth enjoy retreats to Bonclarken, the ARP retreat center near Hendersonville, NC.  We encourage youth to invite friends to the Upper Room, a Christian coffeehouse in Statesville.  We also enjoy great fellowship on various local service projects.
3. Vacation Bible School
   VBS is conducted in the early summer and is a time of Bible teaching, games, and activities for children from the church and surrounding community.  The 2004 VBS is set for June 7-11 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
4. Appalachia Mission Trip
   Youth are trained to conduct Vacation Bible School for children in the Cumberland Gap area.  As with most ministry opportunities, it is a wonderful time of spiritual growth for our young missionaries.  The 2004 trip is scheduled for July 3-10.
